Breslow thickness is measured from the top of the granular layer of the epidermis or, if the surface is ulcerated, from the base of the ulcer, to the deepest dermal invasive cell. This should be measured to nearest 0.1mm

The Breslow thickness should be measured in the standard way when there is dermal regression (i.e. dermal regression extending to a greater thickness than the melanoma should not be included in the measurement of Breslow thickness).
